After a 35-year hiatus, I returned to ceramics following a career in teaching, reconnecting with a creative practice that first led me to study ceramics at degree level. My early work focused on hand building and sculpture, but since returning to the studio I have embraced wheel throwing, a process that has become central to my practice. I am particularly drawn to creating pieces that balance function with beauty—objects intended to be used and enjoyed in everyday life while also celebrating the tactile qualities of clay and the craftsmanship of making. My work reflects both a respect for traditional pottery skills and the pleasure of continual learning and discovery within the ceramic arts.
